One of the most important things we have going for us in this county is the ability to freely communicate. Freedom of speech is important and it allows the media to be the watchdog. But it works both ways. Citizens need to be watchdogs as well, informing the media when they miss something important, be it a missing fact in a story or an entire story that didn't run. We all need to be watchdogs, keeping one and other honest and working toward building a healthy community here in Cottage Grove.
