Welcome Signs Installation Next Week

The four Cottage Grove welcome signs have been purchased and they will be installed November 28 and 29 at the Town line borders along county highways N and BB.

The Town approved the agreement with the Cottage Grove Chamber of Commerce for the signs.
“They’re going to look really good,” said Supervisor Mike Kindschi. The only remaining piece of business would be to set up an account for the leftover funds, which will be up to $1,000. The Chamber's contract with the sign company specified additional sales taxes that were unaccounted for, said Chamber President Tom Wellman who was at the board's November 21 meeting. "I don’t know if they are going to hit us with an additional sales tax on that final invoice.” It was uncertain whether the Chamber was tax exempt, said Wellman, adding that he was looking into the matter.
