The Town decided to pass on purchasing an old pull-type grader that is believed to have once been the Town’s.

“I think we abandoned it somewhere in that 60 year period,” said Chairman Kris Hampton, explaining that town records show that a new grader was bought in 1951, but no action was taken on what to do with the old pull-type. A motion at the October 3 meeting passed unanimously to officially abandon any ownership that might still tie the Town to the old grader. The current owner of the grader Larry Notstad was at the meeting to give the Board a report on the alleged long-lost piece of equipment.
“It’s still functional,” said Notstad, explaining how he is able to adjust the different settings. As far as if, when and how the grader left Town hands is unknown. Public Works Head Jeff Smith said he has worked for the Town 38 years and it was never around during his time.
