Now that the Public Works Department has its 2011 Ford pickup, the Board has decided that it’s time to sell the 2001 Ford truck.
Public Works Head Jeff Smith says that the 2001 truck has already had two inquiries and it has not even been advertised. The Board okayed Smith to sell the pickup for $8,500 or more. The sale will include the plow. There is rust damage in the bed caused by salt from the v-box spreader but Smith said the worn area has been reinforced with angle iron.
Within the next two weeks, Smith says the plow, v-box salt spreader, lights, lettering and all other accessories will be installed and the new truck and it will be ready to go to work.
The Board back in March accepted Smith's recommendations to approve Ewald Chevrolet of Oconomowac's low bid of $23,035 for purchase of the Town's new pickup truck.
