Public Works Head Jeff Smith will investigate and report to the Board on an old pull-type grader thought to have been once owned by the Town.
The grader’s existence was brought to the attention of Town Chairman Kris Hampton who after checking Town Board records said that a new grader was bought in 1951 to replace the old pull-type. “They never took any action as to say what they did with the old grader,” said Hampton. He was told that he should get it back in Town hands because it is probably worth something. The land back around where the grader sits was once used as a horse race track, said Public Works Head Jeff Smith, adding that they might have used the grader on the track back then.
